- The hypocrosy of Black Africa is astounding, very quick to criticise South Africa when it was under White Government but quick to turn a blind eye when injustices and intimidation occur under Black Governments. The devastation, corruption and incompetence of Mugabe and his henchman is bordering on savagery and barbarism. Why is that this evil and criminal regime is allowed any world recognition - Mugabe should be totally barred from travelling anywhere outside his troubled Country and his fortune in foreign assets plundered from his desperate and initially trusting people should be frozen until this meglamaniac and his henchman are despatched permanently from Zimbabwe. They should then be used to for the betterment of the ordinary Zimbabweans and the rebuiding of this shattered country. It is a shame that a Country as beautiful as Zimbabwe and with such great potential has been ravaged by a bunch of intellectual bankrupts and thugs.
- The truth about what happened in Zimbabwe is that if there was no opposition MDC which was gaining a lot of support from the people there wouldn't have been any farm occupation. Mugabe used farms to gain support but still it did not work because as of now Zimbabweans are suffering because the country cannot produce anymore. The land that was taken is not being utilised. I wonder why some people still support his policies I really used to support him before but because now things have gone out of hand. I cannot afford to send my only child to a good school because my salary is less than fees for one child.
- The liberation struggle was hard and many people lost their lives. For the survivors of that struggle to openly support the abuse of human rights in my beloved country by a Man like Robert Mugabe is disgraceful. What did you fight for? Was it not for the rights of Freedom for everyone regardless of skin colour age, or sex? Mugabe has betrayed all the people who fought and died for the freedom of the Zimbabwe. The fact that most young people who should by all rights be making up the majority of the work force in the country are either leaving or dyiing bares testimony to the failure of this short sighted leader. Mugabe has failed the office he presides over. He has failed the people. It has nothing to do with black or white. because if you are stupid enough to belive that a few white owned farms are cause of the current economic and health problems in the country then you deserve a leader like Robert Mugabe. I refuse to recognise him as my president but instead as a ! traitor. Who should and will be one day tried for treason.
Caution Musavengane, UK (koshini15@hotmail.com)
- Regardless of the rhetoric which Mr. Mugabe uses to explain his actions, from land grabs without payment, to the declining economy...as long as the western world (which controls almost all the capital for investment and educational talent) perceives his regime as being unfair, corrupt, etc...they will (as many Zimbabwe officials wish) simply leave the country alone. They will leave you to your poverty, disease and economic disaster...and provide no help. You will wind up dying a slow death due to the world's apathy. The only way you will get needed investment capital, medical aid, and intellectual assistance is to be more receptive and favorable to the west. For me, there will be no going back...I was an American doctor who married a Zimbabwe woman..we left and will never return because of the political climate.

- Zimbabweans are in continous mourning until the dictator is gone. Just as God brought joy to Nigerians under Abacha, Zairians under Mobutu. The French seem to love these african dictators unfortunately there are no diamonds or oil to exploit in Zimbabwe. For those who are still corporating with the regime in Harare please have mercy on our mothers and grandmothers who being assaulted, tortured, raped daily by the regime's thugs.
Musodzi, South Africa
- I feel sorry for my fellow countrymen. The dictator's mother was not a Zimbabwean so was his father who died on a South African mine was from the north of Zimbabwe. His name is a popular Ugandan name. If all this is true it might explain all this cruelty and the interest in the DRC. THE LEADER OF WAR VETERANS MIGHT NOT BE ONE HIMSELF.
Zvanyana, South Africa
- Bishop Desmond Tutu we have always respected your comments on governments and other related issues but I give you 5000,000,000 credits for nominating 'Bob,' a movie Spielberg can make of how one sic individual can mess up a whole countries relationships, image, economy etc.....how sic is the word democracy in such a beautiful country like Zimbabwe with such respected well mannered citizens Black and White, and that the cartoonist can shift all the concentrations away from him by openly supporting anarchy in Zim and giving away Farms like sweets or like Idi Amin`s most precious medals....all citizens of Zim you have a choice now....be roleplayers in the most humiliating cartoon move or stop this crazy onslaught in your country....there are many ways to bring the government and the economy to a standstill by keeping your taxes back, report all cartoon tricks to the Media, encourage disinvestment, etc. The whole world pray 24 hours for and end to this open crime of theft of the Farms and the 8000rpm downfall of your economy...start asking who or which politicians have money into foreign bank accounts, how much and where it came from....Unity is strength....not even one dictator can bring your peace and God given rights to his own dinner table and decide what to eat and what to spit out....put action into gear, the whole world is watching the fall of Africa`s last dictator to make place for Democracy, Peace, Stability, Non Racialism and Religion.
- The stupid communist government is now reading everyones mail incase you tell the rest of the world that they are doing exactly what they claim to have fought against, sads you are ruled by one gonaded prat who cares for no-one but himself.
- My impression of Zimbabwe is that the
government could not
and still cannot uplift the country. Furthermore the majority
of its
people still believe in the propaganda by its government. The
president,
who is slowly becoming very unpopular with the people of Zimbawe,
has
recently made very unresponsible public comments.I get the impression
that
because the government is losing its grip on the people, he is
handling
matters like the old Africa.
Thabi
- Yes we've heard hundreds of excuses for
the current economic
crisis faced by our wonderful country. Whose fault is it other
than
our own? WE voted the ZANU(PF) Government into power and kept
them
there with our vote. Rigged elections WE say. Who (other than
our
corrupt brothers and sisters) in Government offices oversee the
elections.
Corruption has cost us our economy along
with Mugabe's dementia. I
agree that Mugabe has done his bit for the country and the time
has
come for a fresh leader not hung up on war 20 years past. Sadly
any
would be candidates were apparently involved in fatal accidents
of one
type or another. Words fail me.
Robert Gabriel Mugabe I think the time for you to relinquish the
leadership has come, however i feel you still have a role in an
advisory capacity as you were once a statesman we were proud of.
Retire
and enjoy "your" amassed wealth.

- I would just like to say that Gwatidzo
and Bobby must really
be part of the system not to be affected by what is going on -
to
support a man that has destroyed his country and is in effect
killing
his people. Yes fine - change the constitution and get the whites
out -
the ballot will be fixed how he wants it anyway- but then what
- you
will be the only ones there to suffer under it. It will be laws
or you
then once the whites have gone and you will have to live with
it ! One
day you will feel the pain when your farm is legally taken away
from
you without compensation ! What will it take to make you people
understand - I think suffering is the only way - when will you
be able
to sit down without thinking everyone has it as part of their
agenda to
persecute you because of who you are ? You live in another world
!

- I like Zimbabwe and of course I am a citizen
of Zimbabwe, but
the problem is things are really going bad. The answer is mugabe
should
give other people some chance to rule. What will be the end results.
our
parents are suffering and i can't imagine to see some people starving,
begging,
stealing and robbing coz everyone is fighting for his/her
life. Where is prostitution coming from. Thats it. I like Zimbabwe
but then
we are gonna die now. I am really praying for this man to drop
out. We
are tired. to anyone who is reading this. Do you think he is going
to
drop out?

- I am a Zimbabwean. A black Zimbabwean
for that matter.I love
Zimbabwe so much. I feel that some of the critism leveled against
our
president, His Execellence Cde R.G. Mugabe, is unfair. Why can't
you people just leave us alone. We fought against white rule because
it was
downpressing on us. And to expect us to DO as you please is total
insanity.
Just like my good president said, we don't really need you to
show us the
way. We shall rely on the almighty one for support and love. One
Love. Love and Hate can never be Friends. And as such I don't
think with
that hatred you show for us you can ever show us the path to Salvation.
Long live President Mugabe. Our cultural principles tell us not
to even
think about homosexuality, let alone legalize it. Asingade anenge

Gwatidzo, Zimbabwe (mutambudzi@excite.com)
- I am appalled at Mr Mugbe's government for it's decision to nationalize hundreds of white owned farms. Surly there must be a better way to give homeless people land other then seizing land from farmers. I will ask my Congressmen and other US Government officals to lodge a more formal protest and to review any aid agreements we have with Mr Mugbe's Government.
Greg Pochepko, USA (gp11s@nih.gov)
---> A reply to the gentleman named Greg on the question on ressettlement, could I ask what outher means the government could implore to redress the inequalities set by the colonial regime?
Sbimbo, South Africa (Mungani@webmail.co.za)
- This question is for Zimbabwe nationals: Do you think the bad standing of the Zim. dollar is due to an effort to attract touristby the government, or something that is out of the country's control? (It seems that local people are struggling to even buy bread while American's and Europeans are getting great deals on travel throughout the country.)
Katie, Atlanta USA (kejackson@loki.berry.edu)
- I love Zimbabwe. I love the people...it's just the institutionalised tribalism and nepotism of ZANU (PF) that is killing the country.
Enzo, UK (enzo@bigbadwolfdesign.co.uk)
- It seems that most people have forgetten that Zimbabwe has an elected Government. From 1980 the country was Government centered just like any country in it's early years. As the years have gone by the Zimbabwean Government has empowered it's citizens better than any country in it's region. No country in the southern Africa or the whole Africa has empowered it's whole citizens across wealth, racial, tribal classes and regions with the county. Now it's time the citizens of Zimbabwe realise that and be self-reliable rather than becoming Government parasite. Everyday we hear the cries Mugabe has done this and that. You ask yourself that have and then protest that the Government remove it's breast you used to milk (remove subsidies).
Bobby, Washington USA (hozasibone@hotmail.com)
- A perfect example of what happens when people with more power than intelligence are left to do the dirty work of a greedy, self-serving mafia. To describe Mugabe and his bloated cronies as a government is an insult to the language. They are nothing more than a mafia who use the army on their payroll as their personal henchmen.

right!!. Otherwise what's happenning now is a sick situation.
Saul Chamboko, (saulc@abraxas365.com)
- My comment on the journalist's torture is in favour of the Government. This is because as a Zimbabwean I feel that the journalists were and are not patriotic and were only trying to contribute to tarnishing the image of the country by publishing such rumour. There is a degree of uncontrol by the government, but this is only natural in reaction to such unbecoming behaviour. The only thing I am greatly against is the President's disrespect for the rule of law.

- My personal opinion is that someone should push away Mugabe from the post as a President. Thats the only chance Zimbabwe has to get back on her feet. I still have a hope in my heart that she will heal her wounds and show the world that Zimbabwe's people are strong and united.
Anton Lindberg, Sweden (surfnisse@hotmail.com)
- Mugabe must think we're all very stupid
the way he said that the current economic crisis is due to the
'92 drought. His entire government deserves to be locked behind
bars for the rest of their lives for what they've done to our
once beautiful country.

- What news of Zimbabwe do people from other countries round the world recieve, if any? Jack Bent, Harare
---> Well, as for news ... none, sorry, but Zim in europe is not exactly very famous.
No name, Europe
---> Whoever the twit is who said that Zimbabwe is not very well published is evidently is not very well read. The FT, E-Telegraph, Times, Mirror, International Herald Tribune and others all carry articles on Zimbabwe on a regular basis. Its not a case of Zimbabwe being well known, its a case of you reading the newspapers!!!!

- Does anyone know if Zimbabweans are going to survive with all the price increases. Aren't most Zimbabweans below the poverty line?
